Minister
of Education Mr Slavoljub Stijepovic, with his associates, met today with Mr
Thomter STEGEA and Stephan PRASCHLA, the representatives of the Worlds Skills
Europe union.
Mr
Stege who is the General Director of the Association and Mr PRASCHLA, who is
the head of the Board for creating this competition, introduced Minister
Stijepovic with the World Skills Europe Association and the concept of the
Euroskills competition 2014.
The
World Skills Europe Association was founded in 2007 by the EU, and starting
from 2008, they have been organizing competitions every two years. The competition gathers over 450 participants
who are combating in more than 50 disciplines.
The
goal of the competition is raising awareness on the high-quality vocational
education in Europe and the promotion of excellence in the field of skills and
competencies. During the competition, a number of meetings are to be held for the
countries’ officials, in order to exchange the experiences in the field of
vocational education and improve cooperation in this segment of education among
member states as well as with the employers.
Taking
into consideration that Montenegrin institutions are committed to the
development of vocational education, minister Stijepovic expressed promptness
that Montenegro is to become member state of the World Skills Europe
Association and announced the beginning of the preparatory activities for
reaching membership in the shortest period and ensured Montenegrin
participation in the next competition to be held in October 2014 in France.
The
representatives of the Association have also met with the representatives of
the Centre for Vocational Education, the Employers Union and secondary
vocational schools (Sergije Stanic, Ivan Uskokovic and Vaso Aligrudic).
