25 Montenegrin elementary schools to enter into education reform in 2005/2006

Ministry of Education and Science has made a decision by which 25 elementary schools in Montenegro will implement new education programmes according to the new concept of nine-year school in the school 2005/2006 year. Twenty five elementary schools from in Montenegro will enroll six-year-olds in the first grade.

These schools will enter the second cycle of the education reform that was launched last year - with 20 elementary schools entering the reform in the first cycle. The Bureau for Educational Services is the key institution that recommended these schools for the next year but on the initiative of school boards that have accepted to enter the reform.

More schools are entering the reform next year than it was predicted by the dynamics of implementing reform in schools. In addition, reform process will be considerably intensified and expanded in Montenegro. One of the reasons for accepting more schools than it is expected by the dynamics of implementing the reform is great interest that schools have shown to join in the reform process.

For the implementation of new education programmes in the school year 2005/2006, following schools have been chosen:

2. "Pavle Rovinski" - Podgorica;
3. "Boro Ćetković" - Podgorica;
4. "Štampar Makarije" - Podgorica;
5. "Maksim Gorki" - Podgorica;
6. "Sutjeska" - Podgorica;
7. "Vladimir Nazor" - Podgorica;
8. "Njegoš", Spuž Danilovgrad;
9. "Jovan Tomašević", Virpazar Bar;
10. "Mileva Lajović Lalatović" - Nikšić;
11. "Ratko Žarić" - Nikšić;
12. "Radoje Čizmović", Ozrinići Nikšić;
13. "Milija Nikčević", Kličevo Nikšić;
14. "Lovćenski partizanski odred" - Cetinje;
15. "Risto Manojlović" - Kolašin;
16. "Aleksa Bećo Đilas" - Mojkovac;
17. "Radomir Mitrović" - Berane;
18. "Dušan Korać" - Bijelo Polje;
19. "Džafer Nikočević", Gusinje Plav;
20. "25. maj" - Rožaje;
21. "Drago Milović" - Tivat;
22. "Ilija Kišić", Zelenika Herceg-Novi;
23. "Bedri Elezaga", Vladimir Ulcinj;
24. "Marko Nuculović", Štoj Ulcinj;
