On Friday 21 February, Minister of Education Slavoljub Stijepovic, Mr Alberto Cammarata the EU’s representative in Montenegro and Head of Political Section, and the school director Mr Veselin Picurica, officially opened a schoolroom “Europe with us” in the Electrical Engineering School “Vasa Aligrudic” Podgorica.

In accordance with the provisions of the General Law on Education and Upbringing (“The Official Gazette of Montenegro”, num. 64/02, 31/05, and 49/07, and “The Official Gazette of Montenegro” , num. 80/10), and the Rulebook on the Closer Conditions for Founding an Education Institution (“The Official Gazette of Montenegro”, num 40/06), along with SUBMITTING THE request for issuing the license it is also necessary to submit the Evidence on meeting the conditions for founding the institution.

On Wednesday 5 February 2014, in the Montenegrin national theatre’s hall, a press conference was held on the occasion of promoting the first audio textbook, a reader “The magic of reading” for the fourth grade students of elementary school, written by Natasa Borovic and Sonja Asanin, recorded in the Daisy format. The project “Recording textbooks for elementary schools in the audio techniques” is carried out by the Resource centre for children and youth “Podgorica” with the support of UNICEF Podgorica, Ministry of Education, the Bureau for Textbooks and Teaching aids and the Faculty of drama arts from Cetinje.

In the Ministry of Education, on 5 February at 13h, a presentation was held on the occasion of participation of Montenegrin delegates at the VI International conference UNESCO ASPnet “Ob-Irtysh River Basin: the Youth Studying and Preserving Natural and Cultural Heritage in the Regions of the World’s Great Rivers” and the International Youth Ecological Forum “Our planet-one future”, held from 21-25 May in 2013 in the Siberian town Khanty-Mansiysk.

A pilot project “We connect generations” has been successfully implemented in the first half of 2012. From September 2013, the project is implemented under the slogan “Conquer the internet, surf smartly!” This unique project on safe internet is created so that children, their parents and teachers should educate themselves and acquire the skills for making internet positive experience, alongside with strengthening the feeling of security in a digital environment.
